FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

What methods of payment do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, check, money order or cash. Regretfully, we cannot accept Discover, American Express or debit cards.

Can I pay for my inspection at closing?
No, our company policy is that payment is due at the inspection. You will receive your report at that time.

Should I attend the inspection?
Although many inspection companies tell the buyer they don't need to attend the inspection we encourage you to be there. You will learn many things about your home, any problems that are discovered at the inspection, and also maintenance tips to maintain your new home.

What happens if I am unable to attend the inspection?
Please call our office and let our staff know so that all necessary paperwork can be taken care of so at the end of the inspection we can release your report to your agent and get a copy off to you. We understand this is a time sensitive matter.

Can I cancel my inspection?
You can, but we do ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice so that we can reschedule that inspection slot.

Do you do any environmental inspections?
Yes. We coordinate termite and radon inspections with the correct inspectors and take care of all the scheduling for you. They are usually done at the same time our inspector is there and you are able to get those reports at that time also.

What if I have questions about my inspection?
Please give our office a call and our office staff will take all of the information so that our inspector can call you to discuss this with you. Remember that our inspectors are usually out of the office during the day performing other inspections and will return the calls when they return to the office.

How long does the inspection take?
Our inspection usually lasts about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. This depends on the size of the home. Our office staff can let you know at the time of scheduling the approximate time the inspection will take.

How much advance scheduling time is necessary?
We can usually schedule your inspection in just a few days. If there are specific times and days you have that are unavailable, that will probably lengthen scheduling time. Also during the summer months our schedule is quite heavy and may take over a week to schedule. Please call early to get the time and date that would be most convenient for you.

Who should attend the inspection?
The buyer(s) and the selling agent. Out of courtesy to the inspector we ask that a limited number of people attend the inspection as this interrupts the inspection process.

What should I do before the inspection?
Prepare a list of questions that you have about the home for the inspector. You should also carefully review the sellers disclosure statement.

When do I receive my inspection report?
You will receive a copy of the inspection report at the end of the inspection.
